About Us
ServingEcommerce was started in August 2008 by Mr. Surendra Shahi as in need to continue provide ecommerce and web design/hosting services to then existing clients of CatGen/openentry. Surendra Shahi had worked for CatGen/OpenEntry for seven and half years where he spent four years in USA and rest period from Kathmandu Nepal engaged in conducting training on ecommerce to SMEs and Artisans groups in Asia and African region.
As CatGen/OpenEntry's web catalog hosting service operation was shut down in July 08 but, there were already clients from several countries using their services. ServingEcommerce has continued providing them similar services of ecommerce training and web design/hosting using OScommerce open source system since then.
Our objectives
- to provide one stop solution to SMEs/Artisan's ecommerce need on affordable cost by providing world class full functional web system
- to explore available other open source system related to online business and promotion, then use them for the benefit of the SMEs and Artisans groups to digitize their business information, process and encourage towards automation of their business process.
- to regularly conduct ecommerce training for the SMEs onsite as well as online on so to help them engage in ecommerce.
- to help market products of the users via showcasing their products and wares and facilitate payment collection and handle shipping logistic for the users where needed.
- to extend subsidized support to build website/system for artisans groups in developing countries especially members of local or international fair trade associations.
- to teach small organizations wanting to build free websites by use of open source or free system such as google free service.
